Tour description:  Beautiful sightseeing circle climbing two hills for some of the best views in Europe.. We run down the Pest side Danube promenade, from here you can admire the Gellert Hill and the Castle Hill which is a World Heritage site. Running through the green Liberty Bridge arriving on the Buda side of the river we can see Gellért Thermal Bath on the left, than we climb up to Gellert Hill on the green marked path to the top, to Liberty Statue. From here you can admire one of the world’s most beautiful views over the city. Let’s run downhill now towards the white Elisabeth Bridge, than we head northward by the river promenade and bicycle route. After 500 m turning left and taking the stairs up of the Várbazár ( Palace Garden ) we arrive to the Budavár Palace. From the palace we take Tárnok street to get to Matthias Church and the Fishermen’s Bastion for another breathtaking view. Running down the stairs of the bastion via Hunyadi street, we reach the roundabout and the tunnel, then turn left, run through the oldest bridge of Budapest, the 160 years old Szechenyi Chain Bridge. Arriving to Pest side bridge head, we can admire the beautiful building of The Hungarian Academy of Sciences (looking north/left) and the Gresham Palace in front of you. Take the small pedestrian street on the left hand side of Gresham Palace ( Four Seasons Hotel ) and head straight to Saint Peter’s Cathedral at the end of the street. After a 500 m easy tapering we will reach Run Inn Budapest, our starting point.
